Reflections

I was surprised when our cannon shot that far. It shot 15ft at a great speed. Through this it is shown that we did have the right pressure and temperature inside of a gas chamber. At least enough to shoot our ball out of the tennis ball can opening. This was a great project because it showed us how to relate temperature and pressure together, through the use of a cannon. This was also good because we had to come together as a team and make the cannon and put each others ideas together to see what worked the best for the team. I believe that this experiment was a successful one because we learned that relationship and became closer as a team.

I was happily surprised at the results of our cannon. i thought that our first model of the cannon would be better because of the direct proportion of volume to pressure. I am glad that we got like the second farthest.-Nicole Kilbourne

I was very shocked that our cannon went the distance that it went because at first we were not sure if was going to go any where with the structure we had built. When it went 15 feet we were very happy with our design and were surprised. At first we had first built a small cannon and then decided to change to a bigger one which I am glad we did because almost all the smaller cannons went a small distance. It was better to have a bigger distance of the area at the bottom with the tops because the smaller they had the smaller the distance that they went. We learned that if you factor the temperature and volume of the cannon it really does help because if you just threw the cannon together and didn't think it out, then you had a failure of the construction. -Tyler Jones

I was stunned that our cannon projected the ball 15 or so feet. We changed the design throughout the length of the project. I though our design very efficiently obeyed the gas laws. There was enough room for the gas to vaporize but just enough room to build up enough pressure. Overall I though our overall design was a success.
